Ali Khan – Songs In The Key Of Love

Canadian veteran Ali Khan is behind this week’s mix. Khan has been immersed in electronic music for over 25 years and his discography includes appearances on Cocoon and Fabric compilations, featured by techno superstars like Sven Vath, Matthew Dear and many more.

His latest studio mix presents a much deeper music focus. “Songs In The Key Of Love” includes selections from his latest EP for Dewtone Recordings, unreleased material and favorites from label mates Nikosf., Fingers In The Noise, Martin Nonstatic, Meesha and Chord.

Ali will be performing at this year’s Manitoba Electronic Music Exhibition and Mutek Festival in Montreal as one half of Tonepushers (with Joe Silva).

Matthias Rock’s last contribution to our program (a tribute to Sven Weisemann) received a ton of support, including that of UK radio host/DJ Chris Coco. This week, NorthernShore is back with a tribute to another one of our long time favorites: Martin Schulte.

In Rock’s most intricate mix to date, he weaves through over 20 selections of Schulte’s trademark deep atmospheric techno, leaving you feeling as if Marat could have been behind the mix the entire time. A timeless piece fans are sure to treasure.

Hakimonu has been a definitive favorite in recent weeks. The Israeli producer’s intricate style takes on a multitude of influences, fusing various minimal structures with extended deep house and techno arrangements.

He is no newcomer to the scene either. Though the majority of his recent work is being released through a self-titled imprint, his music has a supportive home with other labels like Asymmetric Recordings, Lift Your Head Up and Konsequenz.

Hakimonu contributing to this series is a real treat. The exclusive live mix invites you right inside the mind of this creative prodigy, traveling through lush, all-original electronic environments.
